Membership dues are $30 per family each calendar year. To register by
mail print the registration form and mail it in
with your check for $30 annual dues. (Sorry we do not accept credit cards.)
As a member you will enjoy these services:
Two
Pedigree Charts per family membership. Fill in one as completely as you
can, return it to the library, and it will be entered in our surname index
file.
Four
issues of Kansas Kin published in February, May, August, and November. Back
issues and indexes are available. Please ask for our price list.
Free
queries in Kansas Kin concerning your families. Deadline for copy is the
15th of January, April, July, and October.
Checking
out periodicals other than current issues, for two weeks.
Genealogy
classes at no charge. Nonmembers may sign up for a small fee.
Your
surnames included in the RCGS Surname Log. This brings together members working
in the same area and also assists the Acquisitions Committee in selecting
library materials.
One
hour's research will be done for out of town members who submit an SASE
with a pedigree chart and specific questions. This includes checking the
surnames file, cemetery records, printed census, and index of Pioneers of
the Bluestem Prairie and other Kansas
books and materials.
Pedigree
charts, family group sheets, census forms and the HandyBook for
Genealogists. The librarian on duty can give you prices.
Microfilm
and Microfiche are available at the library.
A
research computer with CD-ROM and internet access is available.
Free
use of the Library with librarians and computer assistants present to aid
you in your research.
We are a non-profit organization formed in 1963. We are dedicated to the
preservation of genealogical records and to helping individuals in
researching their family histories. The library serves genealogical
researchers and is an important source for anyone with Kansas ties.
The Society is a member of the Kansas Council of Genealogical Societies
(KCGS) and the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS).
All gifts and donations made to the RCGS are deductible on federal
income tax returns under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code
of 1954. Members may suggest books for purchase, and if approved, RCGS will
pay 1/2 the cost with the requestor paying the other 1/2.
